Rice Sona Masoori India Gate

Originally grown in the Indian states of Andra Pradesh and Karnataka, Sona Masoori is a white white rice with medium grains. It is also lightweight, low in starch and aromas, making it ideal for Indian and Chinese dishes. Sona Masoori can be used in both sweet and savory dishes, e.g. biryani, fried rice or idli.

Sona Masoori contains less starch than basmati rice, which is why it is easier to digest.

Tip: For a better taste and appearance, soak the rice in water for 10 minutes before cooking.
