Red Powa/Poha /Rice flakes/ Chiura Heera 

Red Rice Flakes is a red rice that has been parboiled, rolled, flattened, and then dried into flakes. Red rice flakes are small, very light, flat and brown-white. They have uneven edges and a rough texture. Rice flakes do not have a particular smell and have a delicate taste.

Depending on the method of preparation, they can be soft or crunchy. Rice flakes are able to absorb a large amount of liquid when used in a variety of recipes, thus absorbing flavors well. They are very popular in Asian cuisine.

Rice flakes can be used to prepare many dishes, e.g. various types of Poha (kanda poha, onion poha, batata poha), poha dosa, poha idli, poha chivda.
