It all started in 1950 in a market in Pakistan: Chauhdry Mohammed Shafi opened a "Mubarik Commission Shop" in the city of Pattoki. As a wholesaler, he bought cotton, sugar cane, rice, wheat, corn and canola seeds from farmers in the area to sell to factories. This business model was raised to a higher level by his two sons in Germany: in 1994, the brothers Chauhdry Mubarik Ahmad and Chauhdry Mohammed Ahmed founded the Berlin-based company "Chauhdry Food Traders" (CFT). They sourced food directly from India, Pakistan and other Asian countries, delivering it to Indian and Asian restaurants in and around Berlin, as well as numerous retailers.
