Urad flour Heera
Urad flour is made from dried, ground whole urad dal. The lentils are cleaned, roasted and then ground into flour after removal of the seed-coat. This flour is used in various Indian and Chineese dishes.
Nutritionally it is full of energy as it is protein-dense, and is full of Potassium, Calcium, Iron, and Niacin. It aids in digestion, provides strength to muscles, aids in diabetes, and helps reduce skin irritation.
The flour can be used to bake cakes, banana bread, dosas, crepes, cookies, and pancakes. In the Asian subcontinent, it is used to make Chapati or roti, papad, and vada.
